Artist Information R.Thyagarajan is a senior disciple and the elder son of Dr.Ramani, who has blossomed into a Concert Flutist in his own right. He has been selected for the title 'Yuva Kala Bharathi' - honouring top young artistes, in 1993 and he has been performing all over India, solo and in combination with his father and his nephew in all the major Festivals and Musical events. He accompanied Dr.Ramani in a very successful North American tour in 1993 wherein the father-son duo captured the hearts of Carnatic Music fans all over USA and Canada. He has released many CD's and cassettes. He is a 'graded' artiste with both All India Radio and Doordharshan and is now a regular performer in the National Festivals as well.
