Artist Information Rusty Gillette began his study of the complex discipline of south Indian percussion while attending the California Institute of the Arts in 1970. At Cal Arts he came under the mentorship of master percussionist T. Ranganathan. Rusty studied ghatam in India under T.H. Vinayakaram. Rusty has performed on the ghatam with Geetha and Frank Bennett for several years. He has performed with T. Viswanathan, and T. Ranganathan.
