Artist Information Hailing from a family of mridangists, Arjun Kumar was initiated into the art of mridangam playing at the young age of five by his father, Sri. Arjunan, one of the very senior artists in the field of percussion. He then came under the tutelage of the mridangam legend, Sri. Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman. Kumar soon became one of the youngest 'A' Grade artists of All India Radio and Television. He has played in prestigious programs such as the South Zone Hook Up and the All India Sangeetha Sammelan.
