Artist Information Hemmige V. Srivatsan was introduced to music at an early age by his parents, Shantha and Hemmige D. Varadarajan. He had violin instruction under Prof. Anoor S. Ramakrishna of Bangalore. Since 1985, Srivatsan has been a disciple of renowned Carnatic vocalist Sangeethakalanidhi Palghat K.V. Narayanaswamy, learning the art of singing from him as well.   Srivatsan has been visiting Chennai regularly since 1986 and has served as accompanist to top ranking musicians such as Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, K.V. Narayanaswamy, D.K. Jayaraman, N. Ramani and T. Viswanathan. Srivatsan is an 'A' grade artist in the Chennai All India Radio and has also been featured in many albums, pre-recorded cassettes and CDs. He has participated in many Music Festivals such as the 1988 Adelaide Arts Festival in Australia and the Navarathri festival in Connecticut to name a few. In addition, Srivatsan gives vocal concerts at key venues in Chennai and has received critical acclaim for his performances.   Srivatsan holds a degree in Computer Science from U.C. Berkeley and resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his family.
