SIFA 2026 Office Bearers Election

The 2026 SIFA annual elections are now open. Annual members from the past three consecutive years are eligible to nominate candidates. An appointed Election Chair will oversee the process to ensure compliance with our Bylaws.

Open Positions & Eligibility​​

• Vice President: Must have served the SIFA committee as Secretary or Treasurer for 3 or more consecutive years. Support the President in leading concert operations, hosting of artists and overseeing the volunteer schedule for concert days. The VP shall act as the president in the President's absence.

• Senior Board Member (1 Position): Nominees must have served as either President or Vice President in prior years. This role involves providing strategic guidance to the Operations Team. Candidates must be well-regarded in the community and have no conflicts of interest.

• Joint Secretary / Treasurer / Joint Treasurer: Open to community members. Priority will be given to annual members and past volunteers.​

Key Requirements
All roles are voluntary and require a significant time commitment, a clean conflict-of-interest record, and strict adherence to the SIFA Code of Conduct, which can be found within the Bylaws.
 

How to Participate

1. Submit Nominations

   • Deadline: January 21, 2026, 11:59 PM PST

   • Action: Verify nominee eligibility, share bylaws with them, ensure they accept the responsibilities and complete the Online Nomination Form.

2. Validation & Election

   • The Election Commissioner will interview each nominee to evaluate their experience, aptitude and availability according to the Bylaws. Once their commitment is secured, the Commissioner will brief the Board for final approval.​

   • Campaigning via email or social media is strictly prohibited

   • Election results and the new committee members will be announced on Thyagaraja Aradhana Day 2026
